Adjunct Faculty in Economics

The Undergraduate Department is seeking a qualified part-time faculty member to teach Economics. The successful candidate will deliver foundational knowledge in probability theory and statistical methods, emphasizing applications in business, management, and decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in Microeconomics and Macroeconomics.
  • Develop course materials including syllabi, lectures, assignments, quizzes, and exams.
  • Explain key concepts such as supply and demand, market structures, consumer behavior, national income, inflation, unemployment, and fiscal and monetary policy.
  • Guide students in analyzing economic trends and applying theory to real-world economic issues.
  • Assess student performance fairly and consistently and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain academic integrity and ensure alignment with program learning outcomes and accreditation standards.
  • Support student learning through consultation, office hours, or online platforms.

Skills

  • Minimum Master’s degree in Economics or a closely related discipline (required).
  • University-level teaching experience in economics (preferred).
  • Strong analytical and quantitative reasoning skills.
  • Ability to relate economic theory to current global and regional issues.
  • Proficiency with tools such as Excel, statistical software, or economic databases is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Must currently reside in the UAE and hold own valid residency visa.
