The Undergraduate Department is seeking a qualified part-time faculty member to teach Economics. The successful candidate will deliver foundational knowledge in probability theory and statistical methods, emphasizing applications in business, management, and decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses in Microeconomics and Macroeconomics.
- Develop course materials including syllabi, lectures, assignments, quizzes, and exams.
- Explain key concepts such as supply and demand, market structures, consumer behavior, national income, inflation, unemployment, and fiscal and monetary policy.
- Guide students in analyzing economic trends and applying theory to real-world economic issues.
- Assess student performance fairly and consistently and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain academic integrity and ensure alignment with program learning outcomes and accreditation standards.
- Support student learning through consultation, office hours, or online platforms.
Skills
- Minimum Master’s degree in Economics or a closely related discipline (required).
- University-level teaching experience in economics (preferred).
- Strong analytical and quantitative reasoning skills.
- Ability to relate economic theory to current global and regional issues.
- Proficiency with tools such as Excel, statistical software, or economic databases is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Must currently reside in the UAE and hold own valid residency visa.
